Get to grips with Malay history and culture at the historic Malay Heritage Centre, a former palace in Singapore. See cultural artifacts, interactive multimedia, and changing exhibitions. Learn about Kampong Glam as a thriving port town, the seafaring Bugis people, and more.
It's an educational extravaganza in this impressive museum/cultural hub. The Malay Heritage Centre has been restored to its former glory, and the former Malay palace looks much like it would have done when it was built 160 years ago by Sultan Ali, back when Istana Kampong Glam was the royal seat of Singapore's Malay sultans.
Explore the beautifully preserved grounds and get in touch with Singapore's Malay community. There are six permanent galleries spread over two levels, and with changing temporary exhibitions there's always something new to see.
