Tickets for The Erotic Museum

Explore the naughty side of the Red Light

Opening hours
11:00 - 01:00, Fri - Sat till 02:00
  • Dedicated to the naughty and sexy (what else can you expect from this area of Amsterdam?) so you can explore the history of erotica through the ages
  • Take all the pictures you want in here - unlike in the real Red Light District outside
  • Plenty of sexy and erotic art and artifacts - as well as a gift shop full of souvenirs (probably not for your granny)

Right in the middle of Amsterdam's titillating Red Light District is a museum dedicated to sensuality, kink, and X-rated art and objects. Learn the history of the Red Light District and see some unusual sex-centric exhibitions.

In the middle of the Red light District, this air-conditioned exhibition can be found by the always-lit neon "Erotic Museum" sign above the entry. Inside, you'll find a whole bunch of erotica souvenirs for sale. Don't stop here yet; you can revisit afterwards, as you exit through the gift shop.

Three floors up is an exhibit of the Red Light District, including a model of one of the red-lit rental rooms where the working girls work, and a cashier from the famous Casa Rosso Live Show. The museum includes other attractions as well, such as a collection of John Lennon's lithographs, erotic photos, and a version of the animated Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs that contains a 'twist'. (The twist is sex. Lots and lots of sex.)

This isn't a museum on par with, say the Rijksmuseum or Stedelijk, but for some indiscreet laughs and insights into life on the seamier side, you'll be able to find it here.
