Colosseum is great , a real masterpiece but due to crowds is hard to enjoy it as it should. Also don't understand why couldn't receive some QR coded instead of printed tickets.

I'm glad we booked our tickets as even in January there were large crowds and the queues were long. There is quite a long walk from the Metro to the Mamertine to collect the tickets and return to the Colosseum so allow plenty of time,

Could not find the check in spot because it was down and around about 5 other places right at this same address. Once late we had entry to the colosseum but no real guide. Then we were too late in the day for entry to the forum. So only used half our ticket.
