There's a variety of different Field Museum tickets you can buy, so make sure you find the right one for you.

All tickets include access the museum's permanent collections, so you can see the main attractions, including the dinosaur skeletons and the Egyptian exhibit.

General admission ticket:

  • A Field Museum general admission ticket allows you to explore the museum's main exhibits

  • You won't have access to temporary exhibits or the 3D cinema

Guided tours and special exhibitions:

  • If you're fascinated by natural history, then consider joining an expert for a guided tour of the museum

  • These ticket options also include access to the Field Museum's regularly updated temporary exhibits which cover a range of fascinating cultural topics

Chicago CityPASS:

If you're visiting Chicago and want to see more of the city's top attractions, then consider picking up the Chicago City Pass.

It will give you:

  • An all-access pass to the Field Museum

  • Entry to Skydeck Chicago and Shedd Aquarium

  • Your choice of 2 of the following attractions: The Adler Planetarium OR the Art Institute of Chicago OR the Museum of Science and Industry OR the 360 CHICAGO Observation Deck

General information:

  • Photography is allowed, including the use of selfie sticks. Certain items cannot be photographed, so keep an eye out for signs

  • Nursing area: parents are welcome to nurse wherever they feel comfortable within the building

  • You can bring your coat and backpack into the museum

  • Lockers are available for larger items, or for storing coats and bags – there is a charge of $3

  • You can exit and re-enter the museum on the same day

  • Lost and found: Lost items are kept for 30 days, check at the Visitors’ Center on the ground level near the Siragusa Center, or email lostandfound@fieldmuseum.org

Free admission tickets:

  • Basic admission is free for active military personnel and teachers in Illinois (pre-K through 12th grade). Make sure to have the proof of your employment

  • You might also be eligible for a discount. Check the Field Museum's official site for more details

Food and drink:

  • The museum has two catering options: the Field Bistro restaurant and the Explorer Cafe

  • You can bring your own food and drink; please enjoy it in the designated areas

Accessibility information:

  • Wheelchairs are free to rent on a first come, first served basis

  • Accessible paid parking is available in the adjacent East Museum Lot

  • There are elevators that allow access all three levels of the museum

  • Accessible restrooms are available on every level

  • Trained service animals are permitted
