Civic Museum of the Southern Lagoon
The Civic Museum of the Southern Lagoon is an archeological and ethnographic museum located in a 14th-century former monastery outside the city walls of Chioggia, Venice.
Spread across three floors, the exhibits consist of archaeological remains found in Chioggia and neighboring areas around Venice, all of which have a common denominator: the water.
The ground floor displays artifacts from pre-Roman, Roman, and the medieval period, while the first floor houses collections from the Late Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and more modern times. The second floor has a dedicated exhibition on shipbuilding from the 18th century up till today.
