Meet Daniel! 👋 Partnership Manager USA @Tiqets

I’m Daniel and I live down here in Florida, but I’m originally Canadian. So, I grew up in Toronto, but moved with my family to Florida when I was younger. Currently based in South Florida with my wife and two kids, who keep us very busy with school and sports. We live in the Miami area, where it’s typically really hot. 😎
What’s your story at Tiqets? How did it all start and what’s your current role?
I’ve been part of Tiqets for two years now. But I’ve been in the ticketing and travel industry for quite a long time. I took a little break from the industry and then decided to try something else. Until a former colleague of mine who was working at Tiqets at the time, reached out to me with a very interesting opportunity to join Tiqets. The company was trying to build up the Partnerships team in the US. Even though I wasn’t actively looking for a new position, it seemed a great opportunity to pursue within an exciting and growing company. So, fast forward to today, and I’ve been one of the Partnership Managers for the US and Canada for two years!
We have spent some time investigating the market and opportunities as well as developing some exciting new partnerships with some of the biggest brands across the country. Additionally, the US partnership team continues to assist our Supply team, with providing new and unique domestic audiences to buy our tickets!
Responsibilities
“Driving business growth by creating strategic alliances and collaborations.”
My responsibilities as a Partnership Manager are to drive new business and to fully optimize our current partners to help drive sales. My main goal is to secure new partnerships to help promote and sell our tickets to unique audiences. Unique audiences meaning, targeting people wouldn’t necessarily come to Tiqets.com on a BC2 fashion to buy tickets for experiences. Customers could come in a variety of forms. They might be reading a travel blog from where to click on a link to one of our offers or they might be part of a loyalty program, receive exclusive discount opportunities from a benefits program from their employer, or have recently downloaded a new travel technology app. Ultimately my job is to create long-lasting partnerships with those travel media partners, loyalty and benefit programs, travel technology, and tour operators, so that they can host our offers and get them out to their customers.
“Whether it’s working with travel media partners, loyalty programs, or tour operators, Tiqets empowers its employees to make a significant impact on the company’s success.”
Overcoming challenges and making an impact
The biggest challenge for me is the fact that Tiqets is a new and relatively young brand in the market, specifically over here in North America, since there are bigger and established brands. While that is a challenge, it also presents a great opportunity! Tiqets has many selling points on why someone should partner with us. We have amazing technology solutions, top notch customer service and account management, and some unique offers to attractions around the world. Coincidentally, lots of our partners like the fact that we’re a bit smaller organization because we provide them with the needed attention, which they might not get from a bigger brand. Our unique value proposition and personalised attention have been instrumental in gaining recognition and trust, allowing us to make a lasting impact.
The secret to happiness at work

I’ve always loved working for companies that are young and in a growth phase. It provides the opportunity for you to help out and put a stamp on the growth of the organization and to be one of the driving forces behind it. You feel valued and you actually have a voice which matters. This is definitely something that excites me and that’s one of the reasons why I love to work for Tiqets, especially now as we’re scaling up, we have the chance to be part of this growth and to experience it firsthand.
Next to this, one of the secrets to our success at Tiqets is its commitment to empower remote work and foster global collaboration. The company understands the importance of seamless communication among teams, even when we’re physically distant. That’s why tools like Zoom and virtual meetings are utilised to ensure that every team member can collaborate effectively, no matter where they are located. Whether you’re working in our vibrant Tiqets office in Philadelphia or remotely, Tiqets strives to cultivate a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork that transcends geographical boundaries.
“Our dedication to remote work and global collaboration is a key factor contributing to our achievements at Tiqets.”
Personal and professional goals

My number one personal goal is to help provide my family, wife and kids, with the life they deserve! This is my ultimate why! Professionally – I’d love to help Tiqets expand both ticket sales and overall Partnerships in the US, with the goal to ultimately become the #1 choice for an attraction ticketing provider here domestically. Organically as Tiqets grows both in tickets sold and revenue, it would provide me advancement opportunities on the growth of the team and department. We have had some great learnings and successes in the first two years, and it gives us a great foundation to continue to build upon.
Most memorable and fun moment at Tiqets

Starting with a new, international company in the midst of a pandemic presented its fair share of challenges. But Tiqets has done a fantastic job with online happy hours and meetups. Also, being able to get together with the US team in our Philadelphia office for some great meetings and FUN. Actually, funny story to add, because I started in the middle of a pandemic, a couple of the first members of the Tiqets family, I met in person were Luuc, our President and Founder, Laurens, our CEO, and Stef, our CFO, at a nice dinner here in Florida, when they came in for a conference! It just shows what a great company atmosphere we have, that they reached out to join us here for dinner!
