Welcome to the story of Lorenzo Fanini, a dedicated Tiqets team member who has experienced remarkable growth within the company over the past five years. From his initial role as a City Manager in Rome, specializing on the supply side of the business, Lorenzo’s journey has led him to become a Partnership Manager as part of the Distributions Business Pillar at Tiqets, connecting new affiliate partners to our instant mobile ticketing solution.

Getting to know Lorenzo
Hey there! I’m Lorenzo Fanini, and I want to share my interesting journey since joining Tiqets back in 2017. Tiqets is all about making culture more accessible by selling tickets to iconic landmarks and activities worldwide. Over the years, I’ve witnessed the company’s growth and transformation, and today, I work as a Partnership Manager at the Italian office in Rome. But before I dive into my current role, let me take you back to where it all began.
Story at Tiqets
I found out about Tiqets through a friend of mine back in 2017. During that time, Paolo (our Regional Director Central & South Europe) and Nadia (Regional Manager Italy) were on the lookout for enthusiastic tour leaders to oversee the tourist groups entering the Colosseum. And, this is exactly how my adventure at Tiqets began.
In 2018, I joined the Italian team in Rome as a Market Coordinator, managing the iconic Colosseum. Over the years, my role at Tiqets evolved and transitioned from Market Coordinator to Account Manager, until finally stepping into my current position as a Partnership Manager. Previously, a proud member of the Supply team at Tiqets, working closely under the guidance of Paolo and Nadia, this year I’ve embarked on this new challenge – joining the Partnership team. My mission is to make culture accessible as well as to make the Distribution channel an even bigger sales channel than it currently is!
Prior to joining Tiqets, I had only heard of companies like Expedia and Airbnb, however Tiqets was a whole different world! Already within the first months, I found myself connecting with colleagues from around the world through Slack and Zoom – I considered them friends, without even meeting in person. After 6 months, I was lucky to visit Amsterdam for a Supply Summit (a yearly gathering, during which all Tiqeteers from abroad join together at the Amsterdam headquarters). During this week in Amsterdam, I was immediately drawn by the positive energy of Tiqeteers.
Some might describe my energy and enthusiasm as contagious – I greet everyone with a big smile and open arms! By the end of my stay, I’d made dozens of new friends at the Amsterdam office and I was able to do what I do best – spread the Tiqets love.
Partnerships team
I embarked on a new challenge recently and joined our Distribution Business Pillar as a Partnership Manager. I must say that this has been a transformative experience for me, especially after so many years within the Supply team. Supply is the foundation of Tiqets, its roots that support Tiqets in its growth.
And, if Supply provides the “roots”, then Partnerships are undoubtedly the “wings” that empower Tiqets to reach new heights.
It allows Tiqets to bring its offerings to people far and wide. Partnerships deal with discovering and nurturing relationships with distributors, those instrumental in reselling the tickets of venues and activities that the Supply team uncovers. The world is huge and making culture more accessible requires the commitment of thousands of distributors and I have the honor to be the intermediary – connecting potential distributors and inviting them to join our mission and work with us.
For someone like me, a history enthusiast and graduate, I must admit that being part of Tiqets is a dream come true! My days are filled with purpose as I’m reaching out to those who chronicle articles about the Colosseum, or those who want to offer the Louvre’s magic on their blogs. And, the best part? Our service is for free!

The strength of Tiqets has always been “the people”.
The essence of success at a scale-up company like Tiqets lies in its people. From the Management team to every dedicated Tiqeteer, it is the spirit of collaboration and support, which makes Tiqets a great company and a great place to work. Even being based in Rome, quite far from headquarters, I never felt alone or isolated. Whenever I had questions or needed assistance, my colleagues would give me a hand, regardless of the time!
Most memorable and fun chapter at Tiqets (so far!)
After all these years at Tiqets, I have many memorable stories to share but there’s one which I believe stands out the most and will allow you to better understand the spirit of Tiqets.
It happened back in 2018 – a year of growth and learnings. Back then, our Rome office was manually purchasing Colosseum tickets. During one pre-purchase session, everything took an unexpected turn when I accidentally acquired the wrong ticket. A seemingly small mistake which made a significant cost for Tiqets.
Yet, what followed after this really showed the very spirit that makes Tiqets what it is! Not a finger was pointed, no one was blamed for this. Instead, support was given and received throughout the company and we brainstormed together on a solution. Within 1 week, we created and brought to life a brand new product. A product that, 5 years later, still sells!
Thanks to this story, I have learned that mistakes are there to be made and can actually result in opportunities waiting to be discovered.
