Brera Art Gallery (Pinacoteca di Brera)
The Brera Art Gallery (Pinacoteca di Brera) has over 500 works dating from the 14th to the 20th century. It's Milan's main public gallery for paintings, and its collection includes several masterpieces, including The Kiss by Hayez.
The Palazzo Brera also houses the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. The original 14th-century convent was given to the Jesuits in 1572, who turned it into a school. In the early 17th century, Baroque architect Francesco Maria Richini renovated it into the incredible building that it is today.
