Gothic architecture doesn't get much more dramatic or spectacular than the Duomo di Milano. A towering edifice of spiky spires, gloomy gargoyles, and captivating Christian art, it's the must-see cultural attraction in Milan. Explore this Milanese masterpiece with a self-guided tour of the Duomo Cathedral, Duomo Museum, the subterranean archaeological area, and enter the Church of San Gottardo in Corte.

Such majestic architectural treasures are not built in one sitting. You'll be admiring no less than five centuries of work, and this will be evident. Every square inch of the Duomo is adorned with Gothic grandeur and decorative detail, from the stained-glass windows to the solemn statues.

After wandering starry-eyed through the enormous central nave, you can delve deeper into the history of the building at the world-class Duomo Museum. Check out the intricate detail of the 1:20-scale model of the Duomo, which itself took 300 years to complete!

In the archaeological area, located under the front steps to the Duomo, you'll see a fourth-century octagonal baptistery, along with other remnants of the ancient past. Your ticket will also grant you entry to the nearby Church of San Gottardo in Corte, built by the Lord of Milan in the 14th century. The church and its soaring bell tower is the perfect palette cleanser after your day of cultural exploration.

Show your smartphone ticket at the ticket office at the Duomo's entrance.
