Based on the former Spanish Royal Collection, the Prado is a beautiful old castle with more than a thousand fascinating works on display. One of the world's premier art galleries, the more than 7000 paintings held in the Museo del Prado’s collection are a penetrating look at the celebrated history of Spanish art. Prado offers free entrance from 6-8 weekdays, 5-7 on Sundays and holidays. This is often the busiest time and entrance to temporary exhibitions is not included.

Prado Museum
A must-see part of any trip to Madrid. (Buy your tickets online to skip any queues - and be aware when the free hours are - it gets incredibly crowded.)

Prado Museum
This platform is excellent to buy tickets, it is fast, you can show it on your phone as well, and it is cheap, too.

Great
Prado Museum
Don’t rent the audio tour. Terrible British voice and very garbled and hard to understand. Changed the handheld device and still awful audio. The museum is hard to navigate, lots of turns and hidden rooms. Classic paintings but overall lots of dark religious paintings.
Prado Museum
Wonderful experience. Amazing collection. Loved it.
Prado Museum
Quick entry to the museum ... takes time to see the whole thing so better book at least 4/5 hours. The audio guide is good for folks travelling alone, cheaper than a tour guide and it was great. For me January was not that busy and could walk around very easy.
Prado Museum
Overwhelming experience.
