At the La Fabrique des Fleurs factory in Grasse, France, you can take a tour through the world of perfume and get a sweet-scented overview of how perfume is made. You can even take a perfume-making workshop, see little soaps being made, and learn the intricacies of what ingredients are used.
Don't forget, exit is through the gift shop, a great place for stocking up on souvenirs and perfumed presents. As a side note, the Fabrique des Fleurs is surrounded by a superb garden of fragrant plants!
Built at the end of the 12th century, Le Thoronet Abbey is a perfectly preserved example of the Cistercian order's ultra-devout way of life. It was specially designed to eliminate temptations and the need for contact with the outside world. It's one of three Cistercian abbeys in Provence.
