Zakopane is located in the heart of Tatra Mountains. Situated only 100 km (60 miles) from Krakow, it a very popular holiday destination. Zakopane draws visitors in with its original folklore, as well as its close proximity to some of the country's most beautiful mountain trails. In summer, Zakopane is quite the sight to see, with its many valleys, peaks and ponds. In winter it's a fun place to ski, with superb skiing conditions suitable for all levels.
