  • Guided tour of the historic house museum and urban garden

Glimpse into America's colorful past, to a time when the nation was new and Isaiah Davenport, a young carpenter from New England, achieved great success as a builder in his adopted city.

The world of 1820's Savannah is presented here, through the outstanding Federal-style home Davenport built for his household. See the rooms, learn about the family and staff who lived and worked here, and find out how seven Savannah women came together in 1955 to save the structure from demolition.

This action prompted the founding of the Historic Savannah Foundation, which has brought about an architectural renaissance through historic preservation in the coastal Georgia city.

Show your smartphone ticket to the clerk in the museum shop, and join the next available tour.
