Starting point

This tour from Porto will take you toward Douro to learn about the region's history and wine. Along the way, you'll stop for coffee in the historic town of Amarante with the chance to snack on pastries and admire the church and convent of São Gonçalo.

Next, you'll arrive at Sabrosa, and enjoy a guided tour of a family-owned wine estate. Try three of the estate's wines and hear more about how they're produced. Don't worry if you're feeling hungry, lunch is included and you'll sup in style while overlooking the vineyards. There's more Douro wine to go with your meal too, take your pick of red or white.

After lunch, drive to Pinhão with a photo stop at São Cristovão Viewpoint. From here, you'll be able to enjoy extraordinary panoramic views of the Douro valleys. Arriving in Pinhão, you'll embark on a cruise through the Douro River and admire the impressive views of the vineyards, wine estates and the valley.

Your final stop promises more wine. Enjoy a guided tour of a famous wine estate with three more wines to taste before returning to Porto by one of the world's most scenic roads, the N222.
