Florence Cathedral (Duomo di Firenze)

First opened in 1436, Florence's most famous landmark, the Duomo (or Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore) is a must-see sight in the city. Filippo Brunelleschi's red-tiled dome is a wonder all on its own, but the architecture is as impressive inside as it is out. Climbing to the top of this stunning cathedral gives you great views of the city, too.

Great experience heading up the dome. Tour guide was good and helped our group feel at ease with the climb. Just be aware some waiting might be required out of front. Ticket also included several other cathedral attractions, so it's sure with it.

It was great having a reserved time for the attraction! We just needed to allow a little extra time to exchange the voucher that we purchased online for actual tickets.

Paying extra to skip the long line was worth every euro. It was very easy to find the person at the coffee shop to give us our tickets. There were several people outside of the entrance to direct us. The view from the top of the Duomo is breathtaking. It is worth all of the 400+ stairs to reach the top. I wouldn't miss this experience if visiting Florence.
