Bargello Museum (Museo del Bargello)

Bargello Museum (Museo del Bargello) is one of the oldest buildings in Florence, dating back to 1255. What used to be a palace, then a prison and barracks is now an art museum boasting a number of 16th century sculptures, plus four masterpieces by Michelangelo (1475-1564) and Donatello's David.

If you're going before midday, tickets are just as easy to purchase on the spot. Some amazing artwork, and the courtyard is lovely, however if you're only seeing one or two art galleries go with Uffizi and one of the palaces (Pitti or Vecchio)
