It was easy to find our guide but 'jumping the queue' was like being in a huge rugby scrum. That was down to the Cistern's admissions process which was chaotic.

바실리카 수조 소개
바실리카 수조는 유스티난 1세 황제 휘하의 6세기에 지어진 방으로, 8만 입방미터의 물을 담을 수 있습니다. 아치와 336개의 대리석 기둥으로 지탱되는 이스탄불의 거리 아래에 있습니다. 이 건축의 걸작은 이스탄불에 지어진 수백 개의 저수조 중 가장 유명할 것입니다. 이 대성당 크기의 수조는 이제 역사적으로 운반된 물의 일부만 수용할 수 있으며, 세심한 리노베이션 공사를 마친 후 대중에게 다시 개방되었습니다. 천장은 높이 9m (30피트) 의 인상적인 대리석 기둥 336개가 각각 28개의 기둥으로 12열로 배열되어 있습니다. 수조의 기둥 대부분이 오래된 건물의 폐허에서 재활용된 것으로 보입니다. 이 "재활용" 제품 중 가장 유명한 것 중 하나는 아마도 "메두사의 머리" 가 물 탱크에서 올라오는 것일 것입니다.
