Inside the San Bernardo Gardens, you’ll find a 13th-century underground church dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel.

Uncovered in 1979 by a group of Narni speleologists, the church now offers archaeological insight into the commune, as well as a multimedia journey that tells the story of the church – from the dungeons of the Holy Office of the Inquisition with original graffiti left by prisoners, to the upper church and its Byzantine mosaics.
