Overview

Highlights

  • You've seen the fountain, now go beneath the Trevi district and explore the depths of Roman history
  • See an ancient building complex buried nine meters beneath the modern streets of the city
  • Marvel at relics dating back to the imperial age and gain insight into how central modern Rome was to the past

Description

After you've thrown a coin into the Trevi fountain, you might think about your wish for a moment or two before moving on. But what lies beneath? Modern Rome was built on the back of its empire, and you'll discover how literal that is on this guided tour beneath Trevi.

Nine meters beneath the streets, extending from Via San Vincenzo to Vicolo Puttarello, you'll discover ruins that date all the way back to ancient Rome. You'll also get a handy audio guide app featuring three walking routes!
