As the oldest Black neighborhood in the US, it was originally settled by Free People of Color (Creoles) and was instrumental in the civil rights movement in New Orleans.
This vibrant area is steeped in both music and culture – Mardi Gras, jazz music, Bone Gang traditions, and civil rights – and you'll get a taste of it under the expertise of a local guide.
