Highly recommend. The timeline is a bit tight for some to get up the mountain and down in the time allotted. Not for us as we also enjoyed a lovely glass of wine at the top!

I ordered the tickets online, and walked to the office the evening before, so I knew where I was going to join the tour the next day. I am waiting for a new hip, so I was very happy that they were able to pick me up across the street from my hotel, at Camping Spartacus. That really helped! The drive up the volcano to the parking lot is a very winding road. I thought we would be part of a guided tour, but we just walked up to the top of the volcano amongst all the other tourists. Many people were wearing their different tour company's stickers, different colours with different times on them. It's a bit of a hike, but I managed. There is a place to buy a refreshment and sit down at the top. The views were great, both of the volcano and the gulf of Naples. We got loads of pictures and saw steam venting from within the cone. It was really interesting. We had been told what time to meet back at the parking lot and kind of kept an eye on other people from our tour to gauge when to head back down. Once back in the parking lot we found others from our tour by the colour and time on their stickers. It was a worthwhile excursion to see the famous volcano.
