ワット・アルン 暁の寺について
チャオプラヤー川の岸辺にそびえるミサイル型の寺院、ワット・アルン。暁の寺として知られるこの寺院は、インドの暁の神、アルンにちなんで名づけられました。アユタヤが破壊された後、タクシン王はここで小さな地元の神社を偶然見つけ、この発見をシャムの新しい首都の場所となるべき吉兆と解釈しました。
現在、この寺院はバンコクを代表する建造物の一つであり、言うまでもなく、登ることが奨励されている数少ない仏教寺院の一つでもあります。
