After a brief stroll along San Francisco’s waterfront and Marina District, stop and see the Palace of Fine Arts. Then, it’ll be on to the main event—a trip across the Golden Gate Bridge!
In the afternoon, sail around the infamous Alcatraz Island on the Escape from the Rock cruise. Learn about this prison and hear unscripted accounts of escape attempts. The 90-minute cruise also sails under the Golden Gate Bridge and passes by Treasure Island and Sausalito.
Please note that this cruise does not let you off at Alcatraz Island.

- The Escape from the Rock Cruise departs at 15:00 from the Blue & Gold Departure Point at Pier 39 (across the street from the Zephyr Hotel)
- Please note: Advance reservations for the cruise are not required. However, as boarding is on a first come, first served basis, it is recommended to arrive at the departure point 30 minutes prior to departure time
Itinerary:
- 09:00 - 10:00: Meet your expert guide and tour vehicle at the Zephyr Hotel. Stop and explore picturesque Palace of Fine Arts
- 10:00 - 11:15: From a spectacular vista, snap stunning photographs of the Bridge Arrive at the city’s Pacific Ocean shoreline, Land’s End. Capture panoramic views of Sutro Baths, Ocean Beach, and Cliff House
- 11:15 - 12:30: See the highlights of Golden Gate Park. Roll through the Castro and Mission neighborhoods on your way to San Francisco’s City Hall
- 12:30 - 13:00: Cruise through Chinatown, Nob Hill, and Financial District. See North Beach, location of Coit Tower and crooked Lombard Street. Return to Fisherman’s Wharf in time for lunch
- 13:00 - 15:00: Free time to explore Pier 39. Choose a Fisherman’s Wharf restaurant for lunch (not included)
- 15:00 - 17:45: Arrive at Pier 39 to meet your boat for the 90-minute Escape from the Rock Cruise, and learn the fascinating history of Alcatraz). Sail under the Golden Gate Bridge
