Getting there:
- By foot: About 45 minutes walking from the center of Sintra
- Bus: Scotturb Line 434 (Pena circuit) from Sintra Train Station
- Train from Lisbon (Estação do Oriente, Estação do Rossio, or Estação de Entrecampos)
- Please note that the venue is not reachable by car
Transfer services:
- There is a paid transfer service available bringing guests from the park entrance to the palace. The service runs every 15 minutes and is wheelchair accessible
- There's a free hop-on hop-off transfer service available between the Palace and the Chalet of the Countess of Edla. Simply show your entrance ticket and hop on!

- No animals are allowed in, apart from guide dogs
- Flash photography and tripods aren't allowed inside the palace

The walk around the walls were fantastic with great views. Don’t be discouraged at the bottom because it looks more imposing than it is once you get started.

The grounds are endless, but signage is poor. You can enjoy the terraces of the Palace and their views without paying for the Palace entry itself. Be prepared for lots of hill walking. The trees...
The grounds are endless, but signage is poor. You can enjoy the terraces of the Palace and their views without paying for the Palace entry itself. Be prepared for lots of hill walking. The trees and paths are great if a labyrinth. Take your own lunch and avoid the cafeteria.
