The Blue Mosque

Sultan Ahmed Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque due to its blue-tiled interior, is the most important mosque in Istanbul. It was built by the Ottoman Sultan Ahmed I between 1609-1616, and was designed to compete with the majesty of Hagia Sophia. It is located next to the Byzantine Hippodrome in the old city center.

Important information

At the Blue Mosque, women are required to cover their knees, shoulders, and chest. Hair should be partially covered with a scarf. Men are required to cover their knees and shoulders.

With this combo ticket you have total flexibility, so you can do all tours in one, two or three days. Join daily tours with multiple available departing times, whenever you want.

  • Show your smartphone ticket to the guide at Binbirdirek, At Meydanı Cd No:10, 34093 Fatih/İstanbul. Your guide will meet you at the Dsign Cafe in front of the Turkish and Islamic Art Museum located on the Hippodrome, right next to Egyptian Obelisk.
  • Look for the Istanbul Welcome Card tour guides in red uniforms at the meeting points (see Additional Info)
  • Your name will be on the list for three days. You can arrive at the meeting points at the first available time. It's possible to visit all three venues in one day, or across three days

Starting Times:

  • Blue Mosque: Daily (except Tuesday) at 11:00 and 14:3
  • Topkapı Palace: Daily at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 14:00 & 15:00 - except Tuesday
  • Basilica Cistern: Daily at 12:30, 13:30 - except Sunday

Meeting Points:

  • Blue Mosque: 'at 'Yeşil Ev'' (Green House) located on a side street in Sultanahmet Square close to Derviş Cafe between the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia
  • Topkapı Palace: At the Topkapı Cafe Across the III Fountain of Sultan Ahmet, outside the Topkapı Palace, next to Carpet Museum
  • Basilica Cistern: At 12:30 and 13:30: same as Blue Mosque (Hurrem Sultan Hamam) or at 10:30 and 15:15 at the exit of the Basilica

  • Open the App & select '' All Audio Tours''
