Excellent
Went to visit because of The Count of Monte Cristo relationship. Our grandkids had fun exploring and the ferry ride over and back. Views of Marseille were beautiful from the tower. Bought tickets...

A very adequately renovated building in a total empty, dry island. There are interesting informations on the exhibition, otherwise no intentation to present in details the life conditions of the prisoners.

We could not get a ferry to the island today, but the palace of the popes was very impressive.

The Château d'If is an island fortress located on the island of If. It was the inspiration behind the classic novel The Count of Monte Cristo.
It's located roughly 1.5 kilometres offshore in the Bay of Marseille and can be reached easily by regular boat.
