Fabulous palace, so well preserved and cared for. A quiet, intimate visit. Most enjoyable.

The palace itself reveals in its details, namely the main staircase, the fact that it has been rebuilt in the XX century, I had hoped for a wider use of real coloured stone.

The palace itself reveals in its details, namely the main staircase, the fact that it has been rebuilt in the XX century, I had hoped for a wider use of real coloured stone.
Also the gilding didn't seem to have been made with gold leaf, which is a pity having in mind that it's not as expensive as people may think.
The library is beautiful Im its vibrant colour and the collection of historical books and documents is rather impressive. Would be interesting to study the entire archive.
As for the Art collection, I was really stunned. It is magnificent, a lot better then I expected, besides the very well known Goyas, one can find an enormous array of historical portraits I didn't know the House of Alba de Tormes posessed.
It's clearly a must see in Madrid.

Αν και τώρα είναι η κατοικία των Δούκες της Άλμπα στη Μαδρίτη, δεν είναι δύσκολο να παρατηρήσει κανείς ότι το Palacio de Liria δεν φέρει το όνομά τους. Αρχικά, το παλάτι χτίστηκε για τον τρίτο δούκα της Liria στα τέλη του 18ου αιώνα, αλλά από τότε που πέρασε στα χέρια των Άλμπα, δεν έχασε τίποτα από την αρχική του αίγλη.
Το παλάτι είναι πλέον ανοιχτό για το κοινό, όπου μπορείτε να περιηγηθείτε σε 14 δωμάτια, να θαυμάσετε μια από τις καλύτερες ιδιωτικές συλλογές έργων τέχνης στον κόσμο- με έργα του Γκόγια και του Ρούμπενς- και να μάθετε περισσότερα για το παρελθόν του παλατιού με έναν καθηλωτικό ακουστικό οδηγό.
Μπες στη θρυλική αρένα της Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης καθώς η ιστορία του συλλόγου, τα τρόπαια και οι διάσημες στιγμές αγώνων σε περιτριγυρίζουν στο στάδιο Σαντιάγο Μπερναμπέου
