As grandparents we took our two Grandsons 8 and 12. They absolutely loved it. We spent all day there. They were really interested in the history of the prison and being able to go round the whole area. The pancake mystery was great as it kept them focused.

Gefängnis Shepton Mallet – Informationen & Hinweise
Das Gefängnis Shepton Mallet, oft auch als Cornhill oder The Mallet bekannt, beherbergte seine ersten Insassen im Jahr 1625. Als es 2013 geschlossen wurde, war es das älteste Gefängnis Großbritanniens und beherbergte 189 Gefangene. Im britischen Klassifizierungssystem für Gefängnisse wurde es der Kategorie C zugeordnet, d. h. Gefangene, denen man im offenen Vollzug nicht trauen kann, bei denen aber ein Fluchtversuch unwahrscheinlich ist.
