  • The gallery is closed on Mondays, December 25, and January 1

  • Opening hours are from 09:00 to 19:00, with the last admission at 17:00

  • You may take photos and videos, but you may not use selfie sticks or flash in the gallery

  • In the Villa Borghese gardens, there are restaurants and cafes, or you can bring a picnic

  • Pets are allowed in the gardens but are not welcome in the gallery

  • You can rent a boat to use on the artificial lake located near the Bilotti Museum

Accessibility information:

  • The gallery's main entrance has steps, but there is a wheelchair-accessible entrance at the back of the building

  • To access the rear door, a caregiver needs to enter the building, or you need to call using your cell phone so that a staff member can assist you

  • Only the ground-floor exhibits are fully wheelchair accessible

  • The upper floor is accessible via stairs or the elevator – please note the elevator can’t accommodate a wheelchair or chair

  • If you are in a wheelchair and wish to see the upper floors, you will need to be able to stand in the elevator for short periods while moving between floors

  • The museum will provide a wheelchair on the upper floor once you exit the elevator. They will safely store your own wheelchair on the ground floor for you

This is well worth a visit. Our guide Mateo was perfect, friendly, knowledgeable and fun to be with. Bear in mind this is quite a distance from the centre of Rome so leave lots of time to get there.

About: Villa Borghese

Villa Borghese is a large landscape garden in Rome, Italy. Covering 80 hectares and lined with trees, small lakes, fountains, and various other architectural delights, Villa Borghese is also home to the famous Borghese Gallery.

It may only be the third largest public park in Rome, but Villa Borghese is certainly the most romantic. It's an enjoyable spot for a picnic, to explore by bike, or even electric golf cart!
