About: Viking Ship Museum (Oslo)

A part of the University of Oslo's Museum of Cultural History, the Viking Ship Museum houses three Viking-era longboats that were excavated from Tune, Gokstad (Sandefjord), Oseberg (Tønsberg), and the Borre mound cemetery.

The museum offers a stunning window into the ancient world of Viking culture, and many archaeological artifacts, wood carvings, and skeletons were unearthed along with the longboats which were used as burial tombs for high-ranking Vikings.
