Visit two famous sites near Paris, the Palace of Versailles and Claude Monet’s home and gardens in Giverny. You’ll learn about two different parts of French history, the royal era at Versailles and the Impressionist period at Giverny.

Begin in central Paris, where you’ll board an air-conditioned coach to Versailles. There, you’ll skip the line and take a guided tour of the palace with a local guide. You’ll visit the Hall of Mirrors, the Royal Apartments, and other key rooms while hearing stories about life at the French court.

After the palace tour, you’ll have free time to explore the Versailles Gardens on your own. From April to October, you may also see the Musical Gardens or Fountain Show, which are included on show days. You can have lunch in or near the gardens at one of the cafés or picnic areas.

In the afternoon, travel by coach to Giverny, where Claude Monet lived and worked. On the way, your guide will share background information about Monet’s life.

At Giverny, use an audio guide app for a self-guided visit to Monet’s house and gardens. You can see the lily pond, the Japanese bridge, and the rooms where Monet lived and painted.

Before heading back to Paris, you’ll have time to walk through the village of Giverny, where you’ll find small shops and cafés. At the end of the day, rejoin your group and return to Paris by coach.
  • The meeting point is located on the Place du Général Kœnig, 75017 Paris beside the church at the intersection of the boulevard d'Aurelle de Paladines and the Avenue de la Porte des Ternes. The City Wonders representative (holding a City Wonders sign) will be standing on the right side when facing the Church.
