About: Spicy's Spice Museum

Dive into the world of spices On about 350 square meters, you can follow the entire processing process in Spicy's Spice Museum from cultivation to the finished product using antique equipment and machines. Generously built on an original storage floor, we show well over 1000 exhibits from the last five centuries that tell the story of spices. Partly in containers, as they come from near and far abroad, partly presented in clay bowls on taster tables, all herbs and spices can be touched and smelled. But the Spicy's is much more than just a spice museum… It offers you complete event programs, whether you are looking for something for your family or company party or just want to make a nice evening for two… bookable for both groups and private persons. Dialoghaus Hamburg is a sensory experience and exhibition designed to make us more aware of the challenges faced by the blind, deaf, and non-verbal. Blind and deaf hosts lead you through certain everyday obstacles and challenges, from a walk in the park, to crossing a busy street and boarding a boat. It's more difficult than you might think! Dialoghaus Hamburg is located in the Hamburg Speicherstadt, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The venue can be easily reached by public transport from the city center and the harbor area.

This highly interactive museum lets visitors feel what it was like to live behind the wall - in the DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik). It chronicles, via video and film, daily life as it was under Communism. The museum also includes hundreds of ways to help you experience life behind the iron curtain, including watching East German TV shows, being 'bugged', voting in a (rigged) election and taking a (simulated) car ride in an iconic Trabi.
