Get straight into Teotihuacán, the largest and best-preserved city of the pre-Columbian Americas. Known as the 'Birthplace of the Gods' by the ancient Aztecs, you can discover awe-inspiring pyramids, beautifully preserved murals, and giant residential complexes. Hundreds of thousands of Mesoamericans called Teotihuacán home. Lose yourself in the history and mysteries of this sacred city!

Even if you don't know the name you'll definitely recognize it: it's one of the most iconic ancient cities in the world, with towering temples looming above serene Mexican countryside.

Teotihuacán was a melting pot of Mesoamerican cultures and a center of industry, producing tonnes of tools, jewelry and pottery. You can still see traces of these trades as you wander the historic streets and explore the maze-like multi-family residential compounds, where a staggering 125,000 people lived.

Of course, you have to climb the giant, sloping pyramids for yourself, both to appreciate the sacred ancient architecture and take in the awe-inspiring panoramic views from the peaks. Just spare a thought for the countless people sacrificed on their altars – life was tough 2000 years ago!
