This site, along with Pompei, was on my bucket list of sites to visit, and it was impressive and did not disappoint in any way. My only regret was not allocating more time to both sites. In my opinion, one day each was not enough. I also recommend that you pack a lunch because there is no food service onsite, so you have to go out of the park to get food and there's not a lot to choose from in Ercolano.
