We had a great visit to the Palace of Knossos. You can buy the audio tour which was very helpful, or there are tour guides at the Palace that you can pay for and they will guide you through the history

Other reviews were quite negative, so my expectations were low. However, I thought it was a very interesting site. It’s hard to imagine what challenges the early 20th century archaeologists faced.
