The New York Historical, the city’s first museum, shares over 400 years of American history through art, documents, and artifacts.
Permanent exhibitions include the Gallery of Tiffany Lamps, the Audubon Birds of America Focus Gallery, a re-creation of the Oval Office, and Our Composite Nation: Frederick Douglass’ America. You can also visit the DiMenna Children’s History Museum.
In the auditorium, watch films such as New York Story, a 20-minute overview of the city’s history, and We Rise, which explores how women shaped change in the US and the world.
