We booked a Nantes Pass online and received the pass with a bar code. In fine print underneath The Nantes Pass and barcode amongst other details was one stating that we needed to pick up our pass at the tourist Bureau. Our lovely hotel, in the heart of the old town, was a long way from the tourist bureau and as we wanted to visit Les Machines de L'ile, which were way closer to us, so we had the concierge phone the tourist bureau to check that our Bar Code and Nantes Pass was , as we had assumed it would be, valid. The Tourist Bureau told the concierge that all was fine, if we had the bar code , that was what was required. We duly walked to to Les Machines de L'isle, but first went to the Carousel. It was closed for 4 days for repairs! ( no mention of this on the website), so then on a very hot day, we walked over to Les Machines, only to be told that out Nantes Pass and barcode were not acceptable after all, that we had to go to the Tourist Bureau & they would print us out another bar code!! We then had to get a cab to the Tourist Bureau (would have been a 40 minute walk) and wait 20 minutes while they messed around trying to print the Nantes Pass. We were so furious & exhausted we couldn't be bothered going back , & only summoned the energy to make the whole trip again the next day, What is the point of selling the Nantes Pass online?! You have to go miles out of your way to go to the Tourist Bureau anyway, you may as well buy it there. A very disappointing experience given the available technology these days.
