Good
Een klein museum, maar smaakvol en liefdevol opgezet. Zeker een bezoek waard.
Historical Museum Workum

About: Museum Warkums Erfskip

The museum is located in the old weigh house in the center of Workum. It is the starting point to discover and admire the Frisian town.

The Waaggebouw originated in the 15th century. In the heart of Workum there are three traditional buildings right next to each other representing the established order: - The Town Hall - The church - The Waaggebouw

The weighing house was the center of commerce of old. Here the weighmaster supervised the correct weights and measures. Now it houses the museum.

Friesian Ice Skating Museum

In 1971, Gauke and Gretha Bootsma started a traditional Hindeloopen painting business. When their private collection of old skates became too big for them to handle at home, they founded the Frisian Ice Skating Museum to merge their two passions. Since then, the museum has grown and is now home to the largest collection of ice skates in the world, alongside special exhibitions, dioramas, artworks, and archival material that tell the rich history of the Dutch connection to ice skating.
