Only got a few hours in Istanbul? If there's one location to head for, it's Sultanahmet Square. As the historic heart of Old Istanbul, it has some of the most significant monuments in the city. From here you can easily get to most architectural landmarks, like the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia Museum and the Basilica Cistern. Sultanahmet Square contains many benches, fountains, and grassy areas. Trams run right through the area for easy access to local attractions.
