Tickets Overview

  • See one of the few working palaces in the world

  • Multiple tour options – guided, self-guided, audio, interactive

  • Visit the residence of British royalty

  • Open to visitors during the summer months – purchase these limited-time tickets in advance

  • The palace's central location makes it easy to visit other attractions around London

Since Buckingham Palace is only open to visitors during the summer months, you can imagine tickets can be difficult to come by.

Booking Buckingham Palace tickets in advance is nearly always required, not only to avoid the crowded lines, but to ensure access to the King's private residence on your schedule.

Buckingham Palace tickets include:

  • Combined admission tickets with Windsor Castle, the Royal Mews or the Queen's Gallery

  • Access to the State Rooms – lavishly decorated public rooms in Buckingham Palace for important royal events

  • Watch the "Changing of the Guard", a royal ritual, on a guided tour of Buckingham Palace

  • A visit typically takes between 1.5 and 2.5 hours

  • The State Rooms of Buckingham Palace are only open to visitors during the summer months, from July to the beginning of October

  • Opening hours are Thursday to Monday, from 09:00 to 17:45

  • Tickets are on a timed-entry system – don't be late!

  • The best time to visit is during the summer when the palace is open and the gardens are in bloom

  • Evening tours are available with a private booking

  • Buckingham Palace is wheelchair accessible (and companions can get in for free)

  • You won't catch a glimpse of the King on your tour – he is not in residence during the summer

Nick was a superior guide. Very knowledgeable - answered all our questions. His funny stories were able to attract attention of a young cell-phone fan. Greetings Katarzyna

Good
In the palace is very pretty. Try to be on time or you will be left behind. I was late but the tour guide was still nice enough to make me join the tour. Also, you cannot take any pictures.

It was a really interesting experience, but it was a little bit shorter than expected. The audio guide is free and available in multiple languages. It really gives you a lot of informations.

Though most famous for the imprisonments and beheadings held there it has, at various times, served as the royal residence, mint, menagerie, armory, observatory and as the holding place for the Crown Jewels - a function it still serves. Legend has it that six ravens must guard the tower at all times, or else the kingdom (as in United Kingdom) will fall. The ravens are still there, and so is this nearly thousand year old complex of stocky stone structures.

Built between 1886 and 1894, Tower Bridge is undoubtedly a symbol of London.
