  • Admire Chinese furniture of former emperors and scholars, early Khmer sculptures and international contemporary art
  • Enjoy a visit of silence, completely without cell phones and be fully immersed in the art appreciation
  • Renovated by British architect John Pawson, the Feuerle Collection resides in a former World War II telecommunications bunker

Take a guided tour of the Feuerle Collection in Berlin, and delve into one of the most unique and memorable art experiences around.

This private museum combines contemporary art, Imperial Chinese furniture, and ancient Southeast Asian art into one mesmerising tapestry. Be inspired by the works and the lighting design and the sotries behind each unique piece.

You'll see lacquer furniture and Chinese scholar furniture from the Han Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty, from the 2nd BC to the 17th Century CE, juxtaposed with early Khmer sculptures from the 7th to the 13th century, and international contemporary art by Zeng Fanzhi, Nobuyoshi Araki, Anish Kapoor, James Lee Byars, Cristina Iglesias, and Adam Fuss.

Located in a former Second World War telecommunications bunker renovated by British architect John Pawson, the institution encourages a conversation between different periods and cultures, and offers a new perception of ancient art.

The building is specatular, and the exhibition both unusual and very attractive. The only downside is that one hour is way too short. Especially for the first half ( I did not have time to look at half) while there was a little too much time for the second part. So, a good reason to make another visit...
