Very beautiful. I highly recommend getting a tour guide at the ticket office. She was very informative and pointed out so much that we would’ve missed.

The Ancient Theatre is a must see in Taormina. We arrived early in the morning, having previously bought our tickets via Tiquets. We were able to pick up our audio guide quickly and were able to enjoy the site without too many other visitors. The Theatre is of great historical interest and the views are amazing.

About: Ancient Theater of Taormina

The Ancient Theater of Taormina is an ancient Greco-Roman amphitheater in Taormina, Sicily. Built by the ancient Greeks in around the third century BC, the site was renovated by the Romans around 500 years later.

Carved into the Sicilian hills, the theater is still in use today. The likes of Bob Dylan, Elton John and Sting have all graced its stage, which boasts stellar views of the ocean and surrounding countryside. Not your average music venue!
