It was the first time my husband & I watched an opera in a church. Acoustics was great. The female n male leads’ vocals were very good. I bought front row seats which i thought was literally FRONT ROW but it meant rows 5-11. When we arrived 45 min before the 8.30pm starting time, we were already led to the 11th row, not too great cos the view was blocked by people seated in front, as alot of the performance was on non-elevated level, meaning the actors were on the same ground level as the audience. Another thing I didnt like was people sitting in front kept raising up their handphones to take photos (no flash allowed) n one was even using it as a binoculars, holding up her phone for a long time “watching” the opera n zooming in to her camera. In such a context, we just have to rely on the consideration of everybody so as not to mar the enjoyment for others. Overall however, it was a great night out for my husband n I, n my husband, not being an opera fan, enjoyed himself. It helps to read about the story (if u dont alr know it) so u understand each of the acts. Bravo to the entire cast, thanks for putting up a great performance.
