Amerykańskie Muzeum Historii Naturalnej to jedno z największych muzeów na świecie. Znajduje się po przeciwnej stronie Central Parku. Kompleks muzeum składa się z 27 wewnętrznie połączonych budynków, w których mieści się 45 hali wystaw stałych, a także planetarium i biblioteka. Kolekcja muzeum to ponad 32 miliony gatunki roślin, zwierząt, skamieniałości, minerałów, skał, meteorytów, a także eksponaty związane z człowiekiem. Muzeum występowało w wielu programach telewizyjnych i filmach, np. „Noc w muzeum” czy „Noc w muzeum 2".

It was pretty cool experience. I had a lot of fun just walking around and looking at all the things in there. My favourite part was of course 4th floor with dinosaurs

The museum itself is so well-known that it is difficult to add anything that has not already been written. No less, in addition to the impressive scale of the exhibits, the size and history of the buildings, the availability of information, the visual experience, simply put, the place is a veritable "factory" for visitors. Queues at ticket counters, despite pre-purchased and confirmed e-tickets, queues for almost every exhibition, queues for toilets, queues for the food and beverage section, for elevators, and so on. The omnipresent noise, traffic chaos, a certain inconsistency in the layout of thematic exhibitions, the juxtaposition of exhibits, their descriptions or explanations make visiting this museum difficult. It lacks the atmosphere, mood, surprise effect and cognitive element characteristic of, for example, the Natural History Museum in London (ignoring the fact that admission there is free). Regardless of the date, weather and circumstances, to visit here is to participate in an educational, informational and human "mill" that has little to do with the pleasure of viewing, learning and interacting with natural history. The place is a typical "must be" if you're ticking off the attractions of New York, but it's not a place to spend time pleasantly and creatively.
