The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and flexible with the group for tour of the Basilica I give it a 5 star rating. The 3 star rating is that the tour guide did not accompany us to the dome or explain anything about the dome… in fact we were not informed that the exit from the dome is a different location. I was advice by the tour guide to use the cafe and facilities and await the return of my teenage son who was able to do the stairs after the elevator. Thanks to of a nun from piety store, and 3 tour members . It was late evening and the nun took me to the exit which should have been the meeting point but the tour guide asked me to wait at the cafe where the elevator leads. They do not allow access to that point, as it’s considered another tour and re entry. It was 5 pm and access was also closed. It was a matter of looking through the crowds on New Year’s Eve without a phone as we did not expect to be lost. This tour does not include any explanation of the dome and is a self exploration of the dome without the guide. Also wrong guidance on meeting points for exit. As this is not a skip the line the rest of the group did not join the dome due to exhaustion. We started at 1pm and the chaos of exit points was after 5. So clearly requires half the day.
