It was fantastic to have a look at Western Approaches - so crucial during WW2. My husband’s mother had been recruited to WA when she was 17 so very interesting to see what was involved!

It was brilliant, takes you back to that time and gives you a taste of what life was like working underground for a lot of hours at a time during the second world war..

Il Western Approaches Museum è un museo di guerra autentico come è facile trovare. Sotto il Liverpool City Centre, questo bunker un tempo segreto era il fulcro strategico su cui si basava la Battaglia dell'Atlantico. È appena cambiato dal 1945!
I visitatori possono spostarsi da una stanza all'altra della stanza segreta, analizzando i documenti e gli strumenti originali usati per individuare i luoghi nemici e dare agli alleati il sopravvento. C'è anche uno dei due telefoni sopravvissuti con una linea diretta per le famigerate War Rooms di Winston Churchill!
