Enables you to access the most worthwhile attractions through Orvieto. Note that you need to pick it up at the top of the funicular, before you take the bus into town. Jacobs Well is just down the hill from the Ticket Office, so start with that if you want to do it!

Pozzo di San Patrizio : Informations clés
Le puits de Saint Patrick a été construit pour l'approvisionnement en eau de la ville d'Orvieto en 1527. Son architecte, Antonio da Sangallo, a relevé le défi à la demande du pape Clément VII.
Le puits, d'une profondeur de 53 mètres, comporte un double escalier en colimaçon (248 marches chacun), et 72 grandes fenêtres qui prennent la lumière d'un puits de lumière placé au sommet du monument.
Le fameux escalier permettait aux bêtes de somme de descendre et remonter pour s'abreuver sans jamais se rencontrer. Si sa fonction pratique n'est plus nécessaire, sa beauté et son intrigue ont résisté à l'épreuve du temps.
