Journey 180 meters underground to the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, an impressive Roman Catholic church that was built in the tunnels of a salt mine. It's a beautiful Bogotá highlight that has long been a place of pilgrimage in Colombia.

Considered one of the greatest achievements of Colombian architecture, the Salt Cathedral's temple has three sections - which represent the birth, life and death of Jesus.
Check out the intricate hand-carved details in the halite rock and see why they call this salty spectacular a "jewel of modern architecture". See the 14 small chapels, each with a kneeling platform carved into the rocks - imagine how long that took!

When I booked this I wasn't too sure if we were going to enjoy it but I couldn't have been more wrong. It was stunning 🤩 and quite an awe inspiring labour of love to visit.
