You'll be left dazzled by Poland's stunning nature on this visit to the country's winter capital, Zakopane. Nestled in the Tatra Mountains, Zakopane has its own unique culture created by Highlanders who have lived in isolation and kept their own customs as time marched on.
This tour avoids the touristic face of Zakopane and allows you to experience the legitimate traditions of Zakopane while appreciating the charm of the surrounding, unharmed nature.
Tour Itinerary
Transfer to Zakopane (around 2 hours) During the journey your professional guide will tell you the history of Zakopane and you will also be able to listen to some folklore music specially prepared and selected by your guide.
Visit to a shepherd's shelter producing oscypek and a local artist in Chocholow (around 1 hour) You will visit a typical highlander shepherd's shelter, learn about the process of making the famous highlander cheese called oscypek and taste it. Then, in picturesque Chocholow, you will visit a local wood-carving artist.
Sightseeing in Zakopane (around 3 hours) You will start your tour by admiring the magnificent houses built in the Zakopane style. Then, visit the picturesque church on Peksowe Brzysko with its magical cemetery. Ride by funicular to the top of Gubalowka Mountain to admire the breath-taking view of the granite and limestone peaks of the Tatra Mountains.
At the local market you will be able to buy some regional products made by highlanders. With your professional guide you will stroll along the famous Krupowki - Zakopane's main street with restaurants and shops selling local delicacies.
