So you've booked your Windsor Castle tickets and you're preparing to visit one of England's most breathtaking castles. Here's some handy information to keep in mind before you go:

  • The Admission Centre is busiest in the morning. For the best experience, please book your tickets in advance and arrive after midday
  • The Castle is at the top of a steep hill, and the visitor route covers long distances. We recommend you wear comfortable shoes
  • For safety and security reasons, a one-way system operates along the visitor route inside the Castle
  • St George’s Chapel closes at 16:00, although visitors are welcome to attend evensong at 17:15. The Chapel is also closed to visitors on Sundays but worshippers are welcome to attend services
  • Dogs are not allowed within the Castle grounds, with the exception of assistance dogs
  • As Windsor Castle is a working royal palace; sometimes the entire Castle or the State Apartments within the Castle need to be closed at short notice. Please check closure dates in advance
  • No storage available; all bags and pushchairs must be taken around with you in the grounds of Windsor Castle
  • Please note that very large suitcases and heavy luggage may only be permitted at the discretion of Windsor Castle staff, and provided the items are able to pass through the security scanner

Excellent
It was amazing. It’s too bad you are not able to take some pictures inside because it was breathtaking. The audio tour helped a lot.

Good
Very beautiful historic place, excellent guide. And still, the price for a ticket is too high. It should be 20 GBP maximum.

Excellent
Wonderful experience. Allow up to 3 hours and be prepared for a queue at the Dolls House. Turn left as you leave if you fancy a stroll along 'The Long Walk'😊
